William Couves was a Lance Bombadier in 147 (Essex Yeomanry) Field Regiment, Royal Artillery.

He was the son of William F and Ada Couves of Tilbury.

He joined the Bata Shoe Company in 1938 and left 2 years later to join the Army. Whilst with the Company he was employed in Department 680.

William died on Monday 24th July 1944, aged 24.
