Lance Corporal with the 1st/5th Queen's Regiment (West Surrey).
Died on Monday 8th September 1941, aged 22. It is stated in the Bata Record that he was killed in an air raid on the South East Coast where he was a member of an anti-aircraft gun crew throwing up a barrage at the raider when a bomb fell close to the gun killing the whole crew.
Son of Charles R and Annie J Turnnidge, husband of Hilda Florence nee. Foreman of the Rochester Shop.
Formerly of Department 640of Supply Department.
His family live in Stanford le Hope and he was Organist at Mucking Church prior to the war.
