Sergeant with 540 Squadron Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.
Died on Sunday 13th June 1943, aged 21. Reported missing in 1943 following flights over Germany. It is understood, unofficially, that he was flying a Mosquito, the world's fasters bomber, on a photographic reconnaisance following a heavy raid by the R.A.F. on a big industrial centre. Arthur Wright had done his flying training at Swift Current in Canada.
He is the eldest son of Arthur William and Kate Mary Wright of Shoeburyness and joined the Bata Comapny in 1938, leaving for the R.A.F. in July 1941.
